Erik Broendum - Danish naive-art
painter and poet. Born in Denmark in 1942
Well
known Danish naive-art painter and poet, born in Denmark in
1942. For almost 40 years he was a creative bank manager.
Already at a young age he started drawing, generally with a
touch of humour. Today primary production of acrylic paintings
still contains this touch of humour.
In
1998 Erik decided to end his career as a bank manager to
concentrate fully on his naive-art paintings. Now he could
professionally dedicate his life to painting, which has led to
more than 100 exhibitions abroad as well as domestic. Exhibit in
Austria, and in
2008/2011 he taking part in exhibitions in Israel,
USA, France
and Poland.
One of his greatest of
success was an exhibition for the first time outside Europe and
in Mexico in December 2002, 2005, 2006 and again in 2007 where
he received great credit for his work. His acrylic
paintings have a sense of humour, based on happy and funny,
mainly Danish themes. Often his motifs are townspeople on the
streets or
idyllic landscapes. But he also makes paintings in demand for a
special occasion. Mainly his paintings describe the bright sides
of life but he can also provoke moral and ethics in a positive
way. Often a small poem, also by his hand, follows his paintings
and adds the painting an extra touch. |
